Couples Care - A little help for mum and dad

What is couples care?

Couples care is about empowering older couples to remain independent at home. We all love seeing older couples looking after each other, which is what we all aspire to! However, there comes a time when one needs a bit more day-to-day support than the other can comfortably give or when both need some help to remain living at home.

Couples care is a great and cost-effective alternative for such couples, allowing them to remain at home independently for longer. Visits range from personal care to companionship and can be as little or as much as needed.

Who is couples care for?

Couples care is perfect for couples where both people need reasonable support or where one person needs a little help and the other has more advanced needs.

Visits can look like a care professional supporting one person out of bed and dressed before preparing them both a cooked breakfast while the other spouse relaxes with a cup of tea. Or a husband whose wife has Alzheimer’s and who’s become a primary carer taking a break and going to play a round of golf while one of our care professionals supports his wife with her personal care.
